Project Summary
Tripp will collaborate with the Barrow Arctic Science Consortium and North Slope Borough Department of Wildlife Management in Alaska, to develop stronger linkages between the scientific and Native communities in the area. The project will work with Inupiat Eskimos to design relevant projects to address issues of climate change, particularly its effects on the wildlife that serves as the community’s food sources. By using scientific knowledge to address Inupiat questions, Tripp hopes to increase both effective outreach of the scientific community to the Native community, as well as the amount and rigor of knowledge available to scientists.
